$310 Million Dollar Apple iPhone Class Action Settlement

Product Liability/Consumer Fraud


Mr. Vlahakis is a member of a team of lawyers appointed in a class action lawsuit against Apple Inc., In re Apple Inc. Device Performance Litigation, 18-MD-2827. This lawsuit alleges that Apple's software updates purposefully slowed down older model iPhones to induce consumers to purchase new phones. The lawsuit is pending now on appeal where a sole objector has appealed the district court's approval of the class action settlement

$1.4 Million Jury Verdict

Mr. Vlahakis obtained a $1,400,000 jury verdict for a former deputy police chief who was wrongfully demoted and subjected to discriminatory treatment. This verdict was upheld on appeal. 


Seventh Circuit Victory Involving a Debt Buyer

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act



Mr. Vlahakis reversed the dismissal of a proposed class action lawsuit involving Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). On appeal, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals held that Midland Credit Management, Inc. (MCM) violated Section 1692f(8) of the FDCPA where MCM sent debt collection letters to consumers inside of envelopes that contained language prohibited by the FDCPA.

Mr. Vlahakis negotiated a favorable severance agreement for a former mid-level executive for one of the world's largest food and beverage company.

As a former defense attorney, Mr. Vlahakis caused the district court to deny plaintiff's motion for class certification of a potential multi-million dollar Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) lawsuit involving auto/robo dialed calls to wrong persons w/o their consent. One of the first holdings of its kind.

Petition Of Crown Mortgage Company For Declaratory Ruling

Prevailed on a Petition for Declaratory Relief filed before the Federal Communicators Commission ("FCC") which resulted in a waiver of a prior FCC ruling which helped lead to the favorable resolution of TCPA class action for unsolicited junk faxes.
